Michelle Obama Announces Book Tour For ‘Becoming’

Michelle Obama has finished writing her book and to celebrate, she will be embarking on a book tour this fall for her memoir titled “Becoming.”

The former first lady announced late Wednesday that she will hit 10 cities over the course of a month, kicking off in her hometown of Chicago on Nov. 13, the day of the book’s release. Other cities include Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Boston, Philadelphia, New York, Detroit, Denver, San Francisco and finally, Dallas.

She may be booked into basketball arenas, but a press release about the tour promises attendees “intimate and honest conversations” between Obama and unannounced moderators about the public and private experiences in her book.

“I hope that because of this book, others will feel the power of their own voice and their own story,” Obama said in a Facebook video. She added that she hopes the conversations are “fun and funny and insightful and inspiring.”

The memoir, which will touch on both her public and private life, is the first of two separate post-White House books by the Obamas for Penguin Random House. “Becoming” will be released in 28 languages worldwide.

Tickets go on sale Sept. 21 at 10 a.m. local time on her book’s website.
