There are increasing amounts of reports that the migrant detention facilities are getting progressively dangerous overcrowded facilities. One of the migrant detention facilities that are experiencing dangerous overcrowding is in Texas at the border detention facility.
Cheif border patrol agent, Aaron Hull, told Fox News that they’ve told everyone multiple times that the agents are not designed in maintaining such facilities. He also goes onto say that they have more people than they can accommodate but are working to ensure their health and safety needs are being met. Hull says that it’s unfortunate they’re overcrowded but this isn’t a secret.
Last week, a federal judge in Arizona ruled that the Bored Patrol facility in Tuscon is depriving migrants of “basic human needs” stating that the condition of this facility violates the Constitution and is worse than jails or prisons. The judge ruled that the facility is ordered to give detainees more food, showers, and blankets.

The overcrowding is occurring because most detention centers aren’t meant to house people for more than a couple of days and these facilities are also being used for overflow from Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE). A witness that was detained for attempting to illegally cross the border claimed the detention center packed detainees into cells without showers, medical attention, or adequate food.
Another female witness was detained while pregnant and was experiencing nausea. The witness says she was throwing up while on the guards told her that his wife also experiences nausea while she was pregnant, then the witness replied, “Maybe it’s normal but I haven’t eaten in a day,” then the official smiled and laughed at her in response.
