A mystery solved in Krakow
Earlier this week, a woman contacted the local authorities of the Polish city of Krakow about the sighting of a mysterious creature in a local residential area. The authorities thought the call was a possible April Fool’s Day prank but the woman was speaking with “desperation in her voice” citing the creature was stuck in the tree for two days.
The woman reported, “Everyone is scared of him” telling authorities local residents are afraid of opening their windows and begged the authorities to investigate. One officer known as “Inspector Adam” reports that the caller insisted the animal wasn’t a large bird and suggested it could be an iguana.
Residents in Krakow, Poland had been afraid to open their windows for a few days after they saw a large brown cocoon-like object hanging off a nearby tree. When animal welfare came to rescue it they found out it was not an animal at all but

Authorities were trying to determine how an iguana would get stuck in a tree as there are few to no iguanas in the colder region of Poland and determined someone might have lost their pet from one of the surrounding residences. After further investigation of the mysterious animal, authorities were able to identify the animal was in fact a flaky croissant pastry.
How the pastry ended in the tree is a mystery but proved to pose no threat to any of the local residents. The local authorities posted about the incident on their social media while advising the public to always report animal sightings even if they’re concerned about being in doubt to be better safe than sorry.
