Neil deGrasse Tyson lays B.o.b.'s theory flat on 'The Nightly Show'

It’s time to put this “flat Earth” conspiracy theory to an end, once and for all.

The week has been punctuated with rappers starting beefs — either with other rappers — or, in B.o.b’s case, with science in general. His Twitter storm about why he thinks the Earth is actually flat even caught the attention of world-renowned astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson.

After a heated Twitter debate and diss tracks by both B.o.b and Tyson’s rapper nephew, the scientist decided to appear on The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore to (hopefully) put the matter to rest and lay down some hard knowledge.

“Your size isn’t large enough to notice any curvature at all,” Tyson said. He added, “If you want to think the world is flat, go right ahead. But if you think the world is flat and you have influence over others, as would successful rappers, or even presidential candidates, then being wrong becomes being harmful.”

This speech deservedly ended with perhaps the most effective demonstration of gravity — a mic drop.
