Lionsgate has a somewhat impossible task, the same one most movie studios face in 2015 — continuously repurposing old scenes to create exciting, visually stunning and gripping new trailers.
But with the latest Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 promo, released Wednesday, Lionsgate impressively accomplishes that goal. The clip barely introduces new footage, but it does beautifully refocus the franchise’s story on its core relationship: the one between Katniss and her sister, Prim.
In the almost two-and-a-half minute trailer, we are reminded of Katniss’s protective nature (she volunteered as Tribute!) and Prim’s journey from innocent bystander to Katniss’s confidant.
Mockingjay Part 2 hits theaters on Nov. 20.
