The new story of the Holmes family
The original Sherlock Holmes series might have focused more on the brothers of this mystery-solving family but Netflix is turning the attention towards the younger sister in “Enola Holmes.” The new Netflix original movie follows the life of Enola Holmes (played by Millie Bobby Brown) who is raised by her mother Eudoria (played by Helena Bonham Carter) until Enola’s mother disappears without a trace.
This series is based on a young author series by Nancy Springer that was written in 2006 that was adapted by Jack Thorne adapted the first book of the series with Harry Bradbeer as director. The young star Millie Bobby Brown is known for her role on the Netflix original series “Stranger Things” and will now be known as the younger Holmes sister who is a strong female role.

Brown will be playing the role of Enola Holmes who lives isolated in the countryside who is being taught by her adventurous, widowed mother Eudoria. One day Enola discovered her mother is missing and left behind clues that leads Enola on an adventure to find her mother.
Enola seeks out her brothers that have left home for help finding their mother but Mycroft decides to send Enola to a boarding school to become a “proper lady” and Enola ultimately escapes. Ultimately Enola escapes the boarding school to solve the mystery of her mother’s disappearance.
Without spoiling too much of the original Netflix movie, this movie celebrates a story following a female main character that is new in the classic Sherlock Holmes franchise. “Enola Holmes” is now available on Netflix and is a great film to watch with the family.
