Woody, Buzz and Bo Peep are back!
Fans of the “Toy Story” franchise finally got a glimpse of the newest sequel during Super Bowl LIII. Disney released an official trailer of “Toy Story 4” toward the end of the big game on Sunday, and the clip begins showing Woody reunited with his sweet friend, Bo Peep, after 20 years.
It also shows Buzz Lightyear tied up — literally — on a carnival prize board with two new characters, voiced by Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele.
The last time we saw Woody and Buzz and their fellow toys was in 2010’s Toy Story 3, when Andy was headed to college — which led to an existential crisis of sorts for Andy’s toys. In the end, Andy gave the beloved toys to a new child, Bonnie, to take care of them. But before the happy ending, the toys endured a stint at Sunnyside Daycare that made up most of the film’s action. The toys (with the help of Woody and Buzz) overthrew Lots-o’-Huggin’ Bear’s cruel regime and made the day care a better place for all toys.
In the new Toy Story 4 trailer, however, there’s no sign of Bonnie or Sunnyside Daycare. Details about Toy Story 4 still remain scarce, although it has been revealed that a few new toys will be introduced.
Toy Story 4 will open in theaters on June 21, 2019.
