Nickelodeon fans get new theme park coming to New Jersey
Nickelodeon Universe is the largest indoor theme park in North America, and it has finally opened to the public last week.
All of your favorite Nickelodeon characters have congregated at the American Dream mall in East Rutherford, New Jersey as an 8.5-acre theme park. The park features more than 35 rides, roller coasters, and attractions. Nickelodeon characters such as SpongeBob, Dora The Explorer and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles also make appearances for meet and greets.
One noteworthy attraction at the new theme park is he Shellraiser roller coaster, which features a plunging 122-foot drop.
And of course, what would Nickelodeon be without its signature green slime? Visitors can enjoy various forms of entertainment on the Nickelodeon Slime Stage.
Prices for the park are already available. A general ticket is priced at $39.99 while an all-access ticket is $49.99. Children under 2 are free. But you better snag a ticket soon if you have plans to go because prices are expecting to increase significantly.
The American Dream mall is a huge shopping and entertainment complex, set to be one of the largest malls in the United States. Aside from Nickelodeon Universe, the mall also boasts a new NHL regulation-sized ice rink. No stores or restaurants will open in the American Dream until March 2020. The complex will also eventually have an indoor ski slope and a Dreamworks water park.
