Hold on to your seats because the first batch of presenters for the 2019 Oscars has been revealed.
Former Academy Award Best Actress winners Charlize Theron and Brie Larson, “Crazy Rich Asians” stars Awkwafina and Constance Wu and former Golden Globes hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are among the first set of presenters to be announced for this year’s Oscars ceremony.
Jennifer Lopez, Whoopi Goldberg, Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Maya Rudolph, Amandla Stenberg and Tessa Thompson will be joining them, according to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
After Kevin Hart, who was originally slated to host the event, pulled out after homophobic tweets from the comedian’s past resurfaced, the Oscars ceremony will rely on a selection of celebrity presenters. This means that this year’s show will be the first time in 30 years without a host.
The producers will continue to announce talent joining the show in the coming weeks. The awards ceremony will also feature musical performances of the five original song nominees, including A Star Is Born’s Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga.
“This is an important moment in Oscar history,” Academy CEO Dawn Hudson said in a statement. “This year’s show maintains Oscar traditions, and is also evolving to reflect our global audience.”
The 91st Academy Awards will air Sunday, Feb. 24 at 8/7c on ABC.
