Panera Bread is giving back in response to COVID-19
Have you been searching everywhere for eggs, milk, and bread but can’t seem to find any? Grocery stores across the country have been experiencing temporary food shortages amid the COVID-19 outbreak, so it has been difficult for consumers to find their basic food staples.
To help fill those gaps, many restaurants have come up with the solution and Panera is one of them. Panera announced the launch of Panera Grocery this week and the program is meant to help provide essentials like loaves of bread, gallons of milk and produce such as apples, avocados, and tomatoes.
Patrons will find the Panera Grocery option on the Panera app or website and can order food items alongside their favorite soups, sandwiches and other yummy Panera dishes.
“[I]t is an incredibly stressful time when it comes to putting wholesome food on the table, and we knew Panera could help,” said Panera CEO Niren Chaudhary in a press release. “With this new service, we can help deliver good food and fresh ingredients from our pantry to yours, helping provide better access to essential items that are increasingly harder to come by.”
To further assist in the safety and well-being of customers, Panera has implemented contactless delivery, Rapid Pick-Up, and drive-thru options. The restaurant chain is also working with Grubhub for contact-free delivery.
