The music will be featured in upcoming games
The beloved Nintendo game franchise Pokémon is celebrating 25 years of catching them all with a ton of new projects including one with pop singer Karty Perry. For Pokémon’s 25th anniversary the gaming franchise will be participating in a new music program with Universal Music Group for a collaboration with Katy Perry.

Perry loves the Japanese culture including the iconic gaming franchise and was seen at The Pokémon Café on her last trip to Japan in 2019. The pop star has traveled to Japan at least once a year since she was 17 and is excited to be involved in a project close to Japanese gaming culture.
Perry’s favorite Pokémon character was the adorable electric Pokémon known as Pikachu and is excited to be apart of the 25th-anniversary celebration. There are limited details about the new P25 Music collaboration for global activations throughout 2021.

Pokémon will be releasing older iconic Pokémon cards that haven’t been produced in years with cards from the original Base Set. Reports indicate there will be eight ‘First Partner Packs’ to be released between February and October along with Starter Pokémon from all regions.

These packs will be available at participating retailers worldwide with the new packs featuring oversized cards including two Pokémon Trading Card Game booster packs. Another Pokémon 25th anniversary collaboration is a Bear Walker skateboard featuring Pikachu.
Pokémon plans on more collaborations for the 25th-anniversary celebration and is planning on making 2021 a big year for the gaming franchise.
