Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau may be charming, but the statesman was still given the proverbial royal cold shoulder by Prince George.
Landing in Canada on Saturday with his royal parents the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for a Royal Tour, the young prince was non-plussed when Trudeau crouched down to greet him.
Trudeau tried out the standard high-five, transitioned into the lesser used but just as cool low-five, before the bitterness of royal rejection was too much.
If science ever figures out a way to get impregnated by a GIF, I choose this one of Justin Trudeau getting snubbed by Prince George. pic.twitter.com/QkFwQeGhEN

Prince George wanted NOTHING to do w/court jester @JustinTrudeau. The look on his face was clearly disgust. ? I, for one, do not blame him. https://t.co/r5XZ2XtT5T

As many pointed out, Trudeau handled the toddler rejection with the finesse and class we’ve come to expect from the charismatic and well-spoken Prime Minister.
As much as @JustinTrudeau is taking some good natured ribbing over Prince George you gotta respect a man whoo respects a kid’s boundaries.

Admittedly, George is a toddler who has to shake a lot of hands, so kudos to the kid for deciding that this stranger on an airport tarmac wasn’t going to get some princely palm to palm action.
You do you, George.
