Razor Blade Found In Stuffed Animal At Local Carnival

Fortunately No One Was Injured

Parents beware; better to check your children’s toys a little more thoroughly before giving it to them to play with.

A razor blade was reported to have been found in a stuffed animal that was won at a carnival in Carroll County, according to the Sheriff’s Office. On Sunday, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office in Westminster, MD received a call from a woman who told them that she had attended the Reese and Community Volunteer Fire Co. carnival on Saturday.

According to authorities, the woman said she played a game and won a stuffed animal. However, the woman said that when she let her dog play with the stuffed animal, she heard a “crunch” noise coming from the toy. Upon further investigation, the woman found that there were razor blades in one of the arms of the toy.

Thankfully the dog was not injured.

The fire company that put on the carnival told investigators that it does not own the game that the woman played. The game is where a whiffle ball is rolled into a hole.

As a result of this incident, the Sheriff’s Office and the Reese and Community Volunteer Fire Co. are asking people to check any stuffed animals that were won at the game out of caution.

The investigation is currently ongoing.
