Rebel Wilson To Host Australian Comedy Contest

Are you a hoot at parties? Do you light up the room with your jokes and hilarious remarks?

Then you’ll probably get a kick out of this new TV series. Rebel Wilson is teaming up with Amazon to host a TV comedy contest in her native Australia. According to a press release, the “Pitch Perfect” star is executive producing the six-episode of the Australian version of the streaming service’s comedy competition. The show is being called “LOL: Last One Laughing” and is Amazon’s first original series made in Sydney.
The show will feature 10 Australian comedic actors and stand-ups competing to make each other laugh first and win a $68,000 (£56,000) prize. “LOL: Last One Laughing” is based on a Japanese Amazon Original series, “Hitoshi Matsumoto Presents Documental.”

“I’m thrilled to be joining the Prime Video family of creators and talent,” Wilson said in a statement. “I can’t wait to see what these talented Australian comedians come up with and how far they’ll go to take home the prize.”

James Farrell, head of international originals for Amazon Studios, said in a statement that Wilson was at the top of the company’s list to host and star the show.

If this sounds like the type of show you’d watch, it will be available to Amazon subscribers next year.
