New Attraction Brings Hundreds Of Fans
It’s one busy summer for Disneyland this year, but that’s what happens whenever the parks introduce a new land. As any “Dis-nerd” might have heard, the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has officially opened its doors on Monday in Anaheim. But that’s not what is making the headlines; it took less than an hour before people started getting turned away because the land reached full capacity.
Even opening 30 minutes early, by less than an hour’s time, guests could no longer enter. Guests would be allowed to come back later in the day with a “boarding party,” or a virtual queue, but the land was packed almost immediately all day. The Disneyland app even had to announce that some people might not even get to enter Galaxy’s Edge at all.
Thankfully though, by 5:00 p.m., the park was able to turn the queue off, and guests were once again allowed to enter the land.
For those that were able to get into the new land, the wait for the ride for Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run was already three hours, according to the official Disneyland app. Throughout the day the wait for the ride was about an hour.
A lot of Star Wars merchandise also sold out very quickly, resulting in some guests to take to social media to complain. Needless to say, Star Wars: Galaxy Edge is a huge hit, and no doubt when it opens at Disney World in Florida, it will be a huge success there as well.
