If You Don’t Hurry You Might Miss Out
Summer is back in full colorful swing because Starbucks has released this year’s Unicorn Frappuccino. The colorful concoction is being called the Tie-Dye Frappuccino and launched for a five-day limited run on Wednesday at participating stores in the U.S. and Canada.
The drink is a tropical fruity drink, with yellow, red and blue tie-dye swirls topped with vanilla whipped cream, and dusted with yellow, red and blue powder. The powder colors come from turmeric, red beet and spirulina.
The drink debuts just at the peak of summer when the weather outside is blazing hot.
The description of the Tie-Dye Frappuccino, courtesy of Starbucks, says: “This vibrant, colorful drink has yellow, red and blue tie-dye swirls, and is topped with vanilla whipped cream and dusted with yellow, red and blue powder. The Tie-Dye Frappuccino has a tropical fruit flavor that will take you to your happiest place. The drink gets its color from turmeric, red beet and spirulina.”
Starbucks was inspired to create the drink after the popular art form of tie-dying. Tie-dye is the manipulation of the fabric prior to the application of dye, creating bright, saturated and bold patterns once the fabric and ink have died. Tie-dye was a popular fashion choice in the 1960 and 1970s, while also enjoying a brief revival during the ‘90s.
