‘Supernatural’ Is Over After Season 15
“Carry on my wayward son, for there’ll be peace when you are done,” – Kansas.
It’s the song that fans have said the “Supernatural” family needs to go out to if the show ever came to an end. Well sadly, it seems that time has finally come and fans all across the globe are expressing their sadness as well as excitement for the series finale.
The CW’s supernatural series “Supernatural” will come to an end with its 15th season. The series follows brothers Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) Winchester as they follow their father’s footsteps in the “family business” — hunting down monsters and things that go bump in the dark.
Since it premiered in 2005, the series has garnered a massive fan following.
Although The CW renewed the series for its 15th season in January, in a recently released video message on Twitter, Padalecki, Ackles, and co-star Misha Collins (who plays the angel Castiel) announced that the series would come to an end with its forthcoming season, and thanked the fans who have watched over the years.
“We wanted you to hear from us that although we’re excited about next year,” Padalecki said, “it will be the finale.”
“We’ve cried some tears and we’ll cry some more, but we’re grateful and we’re going to work all that emotion into next season,” added Padalecki.
Creator Eric Kripke originally envisioned the series would run for five seasons, but surprisingly, it lasted three times as long, building on the world and the characters for years.
The final season will consist of 20 episodes. “Supernatural” has been a cornerstone of The CW throughout its run and remains one of the most popular shows on the network.
