This is no “red wedding” remake. Over this past weekend, actors Kit Harington and Rose Leslie tied the knot. The ‘Game of Thrones’ co-stars played Jon Snow and Ygritte in the hit HBO show where their on-screen romance first blossomed into a real-world relationship. That’s right, not everything in the world of Westeros is fantasy. Leslie’s character may have met with a (SPOILER) tragic end in season 4, but that did not stop her from continuing to pursue Harington, who have rumored to have been dating since back in 2012.
The two held their wedding in Aberdeen, Scotland at the Kirkton of Raine church and were accompanied by a slew of their famous co-stars including Peter Dinklage, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, and more. The reception continued at Leslie’s family castle, which seems fitting for the circumstances in relation to the show. The next season of Game of Thrones is set to premier in 2019, and it will be Harington’s final appearance as Jon Snow when the show comes to a conclusion for its 8th season.
