A great designer wants to ensure what they create is so elegant and functional that it seems effortless. Which is exactly why it’s so rare that, when test driving a brand new car, we so rarely think about the minds behind it; the people who created the vehicle that gets us around and helps us do the things we love.
Tom Kearns, chief designer at the Kia Design Center in America, is one of those minds. Each and every morning, he wakes up and thinks about what the world will look like several years into the future so that he can start to make sense of how the cars we drive will fit into it.
Watch as Kearns gives us a glimpse into the day-to-day he has created to help him design the cars that will drive us into the future.
