Twitter offers Super Follows to charge for tweets
Twitter will be offering a new service for Super Follows allowing users to charge a subscription service fee for access to exclusive tweets. Twitter’s new Super Follows model resembles the paywall method seen on pages of major news publications that requires payment for access to the content.
The Super Follows option is for content creators that have become more prevalent in social media platforms over the last couple of years including YouTube, Facebook, GitHub, and the most successful being Patreon. The Super Follows direct creator payment features will help Twitter compete against competition social media platforms.

Twitter revealed an example of the new Super Follows subscription model that will charge users a monthly rate of $4.99 offering perks of exclusive content including an official supporter badge for user profiles, subscription-only newsletter, discounts, deals, and community access.
The Super Follows subscription plan includes a new feature to the platform called Communities where users can create interest groups similar to Facebook Groups. Facebook is known for its Groups feature that provided huge success for Facebook but was also a big moderation issue and Twitter will be taking the risk to feature a new helpful tool for Twitter users.

The new Communities feature can be helpful for Twitter since the open-ended nature can make it difficult for new users to get started using Twitter. Another feature that will be an extension of Communities with the Spaces feature for audio chat rooms for users. There is no dedicated launch date for the new features but Twitter revealed these new developments during a presentation for investors and analysts.
