Get your wands ready wizards (and muggles)!
After much anticipation and speculation, Universal Orlando Resort announced the official opening date and name for a new Harry Potter thrill ride coming to the park this year.
After plans for the coaster were reportedly leaked, Universal Orlando Resort confirmed that the core of the concept of the ride is Hogwarts’ Gamekeeper and Care of Magical Creatures Professor, Rubeus Hagrid.
Titled “Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure” the new ride promises to be one of the ‘most highly-themed coaster experiences’ across Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, and is slated to open on June 13th, 2019.
The ride will replace the Dragon Challenge previously on the site at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade in Islands of Adventure.
As stated in Universal Orlando Resort’s official press statement: “Universal Orlando Resort today revealed the name and opening date for the highly-anticipated, new adventure coming to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter this summer. Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure will open on June 13, 2019 in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, and feature the most highly-themed coaster yet. For the first time ever, guests will fly with Hagrid on a thrilling roller coaster ride that plunges into the path of some of the wizarding world’s rarest magical creatures.”
