You always get those cynical types on high brow news shows turning their noses up at cat and dog videos. It’s odd to me that on every cute animal compilation video on YouTube, there are always several thousand dislikes contrasting with the several thousand more likes. Like, who goes out of their way to thumbs down a cute animal video?

There’s nothing wrong with enjoying cute things, at least not that I can see. Life is hard, man, and sometimes you need a little dose of joyful innocence to remind you that the world is still beautiful. If there’s any living thing you’re almost guaranteed to get that from, it’s a puppy.

So poo on the cynics. Animal videos make people happy without hurting anyone, and on that merit alone, they have a place in our society.
