Zombieland Sequel Coming Soon
Everyone’s favorite ragtag survivors are back in action to battle newly evolved versions of the undead in “Zombieland 2: Double Tap,” a sequel to 2009’s surprise hit dark comedy “Zombieland.” In the first film, a form of human-adapted mad cow disease hits the United States, transforming most of the nation’s population into zombies.
The film follows a group of unlikely survivors—Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson), and orphaned sisters Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin)—on a road trip in hopes of finding a safe area that has been untouched by the disease. Unfortunately, their trip ends with a battle for survival against zombies in an abandoned amusement park.
The original gang will be returning for the sequel, and as the official synopsis for Zombieland 2 states: “Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita, and Little Rock move to the American heartland as they face off against evolved zombies, fellow survivors, and the growing pains of the snarky makeshift family.”
Interestingly though, the trailer shows the makeshift family setting up camp in a deserted White House, right around Christmas time.
In the trailer, Little Rock is now a teenager, so when she meets a boy named Berkeley (Avan Jogia), she runs off with him. Columbus, Wichita, and Tallahassee take off in search of her, and along the way, they meet Nevada (Rosario Dawson) and two curious doppelgängers (Luke Wilson and Thomas Middleditch).
“Zombieland 2: Double Tap” hits theaters Oct. 18, 2019.
