“Together, together, come on let’s have some fun!”
Director Kenny Ortega immediately expressed his enthusiasm when ABC and Bob Iger asked him is he would like to participate in the April 16 special of “The Disney Family Singalong.” The “High School Musical” director shared that he asked actors and artists from his previous movies and TV series to participate in a performance of the High School Musical anthem “We’re All In This Together” for the special.
But of course, the anthem wouldn’t be complete without the East High Wildcats, but thankfully, Ortega was able to convince Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman and Lucas Grabeel to agree to participate. And in a last-minute edition, Zac Efron agreed to come on board to send out a positive message to everyone during these tough times.

“Everyone we reached out to was quick — and you’ll see it in their spirit and the way they come together from their homes,” Ortega said. “They recognize this is an opportunity to strengthen spirits for those joining us for the broadcast.”
In addition to the original six from “High School Musical,” Ortega also shared that other artists from the Disney family will be coming together for various different projects. That includes Raven-Symoné who he worked with on “Cheetah Girls” as well as the cast members from “Descendants,” “Zombies” and “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.”
The performance of “We’re All In this Together” will be hosted by Ryan Seacrest on April 16 at 8 pm ET on ABC. Other artists who will be participating in the nationwide singalong include Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, Josh Groban and much more.
