Colorblind boy nearly falls over when he sees red for the first time

Although Luke can see well, he experiences color vision deficiency, meaning he doesn’t see colors as vividly or accurately as most, commonly referred to as colorblindness.

Fortunately for Luke and others who suffer the same deficiency, there’s a cheap and easy fix, using a product called EnChroma sunglasses.

Luke’s father Spencer captured his first moments with the new glasses on camera, and although he gets a little confused distinguishing blue from purple, we’re sure he’ll learn fast enough.

Another clip on Spencer’s YouTube channel shows Luke nearly falling over as he sees red flowers for the first time, reminding us how most people who see colors more accurately than those with deficiencies, take it for granted each day.

Since the EnChroma glasses first came on the market, we have seen a lot of people who suffer from colorblindness experiencing color for the first time.

The glasses, which start at $329, allow people with red-green colorblindness to see colors more accurately. According to its website, “colors appear more vibrant, saturated, full, and yet without compromising the accuracy or color balance of the scene.”
