Entenmann’s Little Bites Recalled In 37 States

Little Bites Fans Beware

Entenmann’s, the company that makes the popular Little Bites soft-baked cookies has issued a voluntary recall of its packaged treats in 37 states, including New York, New Jersey, Florida, and Connecticut. The recall was initiated over concerns that plastic pieces may have gotten into the individual packaging.

Bimbo Bakeries USA, Inc., said in its recall notice Thursday that the plastic was not baked into the product. However, the plastics could be inside the pouches of the 5-pack Mini Chocolate chip snacks. Little Bites muffins and other Entenmann’s brand products are not affected by the recall.

“The plastic is not baked into the product since it was introduced during the packaging process; however, consumption of the plastic pieces may result in a choking hazard,” the FDA announced.

The recall followed one consumer who reported finding the visible blue plastic pieces inside the individually packed snacks. Since then, all recalled products are being removed from store shelves, Bimbo Bakeries said.

The product being recalled has “Best By” date Aug. 31, 2019 and Sept. 7, 2019. Consumers who have purchased the cookies are advised not to consume the product and instead return the package to its place of purchase for a full refund.
