Maleficent Is Back For A Sequel
It’s been a long time since we last saw Angelina Jolie on the big screen, but the famous Hollywood actress is making her return as everyone’s favorite Disney villainess. Everything from her signature horns to her iconic evil laugh is making a comeback and fans could not be more excited.
The first trailer for “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” – the sequel to 2014’s “Maleficent” – finds one of Disney’s most iconic villains back for another round of revisionist history, and this time, she is teaming up with Aurora (Elle Fanning).
Disney announced that the sequel to “Maleficent” would be joining the 2019 live-action line-up in early March. The first movie had a major twist, telling the story of Sleeping Beauty from the villain’s point of view and revealing that the King was the actual bad guy.
“Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” picks up a few years after the events of “Maleficent,” as the horned fairy joins forces with Princess Aurora as they work to protect the magical lands. The film is directed by Joachim Rønning, and joining Jolie and Fanning in the film are Michelle Pfeiffer as Queen Ingrith, Harris Dickinson as Prince Phillip, and Chiwetel Ejiofor, Ed Skrein, and Robert Lindsay in undisclosed roles.
“Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” premieres on Oct. 18.
