The talented Kelly Clarkson will be bringing her talent, humor and compassion to daytime television next year. NBC Owned Television Station Group has picked up “The Kelly Clarkson Show” from NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution for fall of 2019.
She and Brandon Blackstock will serve as executive producers. Clarkson teased the news on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” Fallon said, “This is a big announcement. It’s not been announced yet, but you’re getting your own talk show.”
Clarkson responded with, “Well, it’s been leaked.” She later added, “It’s daytime, we’re gonna be on right before “Ellen.” Clarkson’s touring band will be her house band on the show. Clarkson admitted she had already shot the pilot for “The Kelly Clarkson Show.” NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations expressed excitement to have Kelly Clarkson on air next fall.
“She’s genuine, warm, fun and interacts with her fans in a meaningful way. Throughout her career people of all ages and backgrounds have related to her openness, honesty and curiosity. She will be the perfect companion to ‘Ellen,’ providing an afternoon of great television,” said Valari Staab, president of NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations.
“[It will be] a fun, energetic show that breaks with tradition,” the network said in a statement to EW. “In each episode audiences will experience an hour full of remarkable stories, celebrity guests, spontaneous surprises, humor, heart and, of course, good music! It’s like a weekday brunch party with a fascinating guest list of people who would otherwise never meet.”
