The government shutdown is still going strong and two members of the legendary rock band KISS are offering TSA employees a free meal.
Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley made the announcement through their Rock and Brews Restaurants’ Facebook page that TSA employees impacted during the government shutdown can get a free pulled pork sandwich or strawberry fields salad at all stand-alone Rock and Brews locations.
In a video posted to Facebook, Simmons and Stanley shared their appreciation to all federal employees, thanking them for their hard work despite the government shutdown. To show their support, the rock band members stated how they want to provide free and delicious meals to those working without pay.
Simmons and Stanley aren’t the only ones to offer help to federal workers during the shutdown though.
Music legend Jon Bon Jovi offered free meals to furloughed federal workers at his New Jersey restaurant. Also assisting in the promotion was Governor Phil Murphy’s charity, the Phil and Tammy Murphy Family Foundation.
In addition to the music icons, former President George W. Bush and his wife Laura Bush delivered pizza to his Secret Service personnel.
Taking it a step further, Bush said. “It’s time for leaders on both sides to put politics aside, come together, and end this shutdown.”
The partial shutdown, which began in late December, is now the longest in American history.
