The Royal Family has a lot to celebrate lately, from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Royal Wedding earlier this year to Princess Eugenie’s recent marriage to Jack Brooksbank. But the news gets even better for The Palace as there will be a new addition to the Royal Family next year!
In a surprise announcement on the eve of their first royal tour to Australia, Fiji, and Tonga, Kensington Palace released news that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are expecting their first child in the Spring of 2019.
The Palace made the announcement via Twitter, which read “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019.”
Although The Palace has not yet announced a specific due date for the baby’s arrival, a spokeswoman for Kensington Palace did say that the duchess was “in good health.”
The child of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be seventh in line for the throne behind Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, and Prince Harry. The child will be the Queen and Prince Philip’s eighth great grandchild.
