The Creepy Classic To Return To Nick
It will soon be time to walk through memory lane and relive your childhood years because, in some exciting new entertainment news, it has been announced that Nickelodeon will be launching a reboot of the famous series “Are You Afraid of the Dark?”
The reboot will be a re-imagining of the classic teen-horror anthology series, and the cast will include Sam Ashe Arnold (Best.Worst.Weekend.Ever.), Miya Cech (Rim of the World), Tamara Smart (Artemis Fowl), Jeremy Taylor (It), Lyliana Wray (Black-ish), and Rafael Casal (Blindspotting).
As the statement released by Nickelodeon goes: “The beloved anthology series will return this October as a brand-new miniseries and follow new members of the Midnight Society as they gather around a campfire in the woods to share scary stories,” the cable network announced via press release. “The miniseries will coincide with the upcoming Are You Afraid of the Dark? theatrical movie from Paramount Pictures, Paramount Players’, and Nickelodeon Movies, in theaters October 2019.”
Originally, it was supposed to be a film adaption, however, production was stalled, and because the project would not be completed in time for an October release, production was forced to be pushed back, resulting in some behind-the-scenes changes.
Luckily for us 90’s kids that are excitedly waiting, the “Are You Afraid of the Dark?” limited series is finally now in production.
