In late January, all of us that had a resolution to eat healthier this year, may be doomed. Why, you ask? Taco Bell just announced that coming later this January, they will be adding nacho fries to their menu. Nachos and fries…what better combination could you have ever dreamt up?
How does it get better? Well, these fabulous fries will only be a dollar. Yes, you heard it here, $1 nacho fries. Though we love any tasty new foods that only cost us one dollar, it’s not just fun and games for the Yum Brands’ chain. Taco Bell has a business plan behind revamping its dollar menu. Taco Bell told CNBC that its $1 menu items garnered more than $500 million in sales in 2017 and its $5 boxes generated an additional $1 billion in sales for the brand.
Of course Taco Bell isn’t the only fast-food chain that has a dollar menu, but perhaps they are just trying to stay in the fast-food chain game. McDonalds and Jack in the Box also offer their own versions of the dollar menu.
