Who says you can’t have your very own Baby Yoda that was handcrafted by you?
In an exciting new announcement, Build-A-Bear will be selling Baby Yoda stuffed plushies as demand for the character from “Star Wars” show “The Mandalorian” continues to remain the most-streamed show in the world.
Build-A-Bear CEO Sharon Price John said during a presentation on Tuesday at the ICR Conference in Orlando, Florida that “We now will have the Child, also known as Baby Yoda.”
John further revealed Build-A-Bear had already begun working with Disney and Lucasfilm on the Baby Yoda doll since November 2019, which was when the first episode of “The Mandalorian” debuted.
In its earlier years, Build-A-Bear’s business was geared toward children, but now, half of the retailer’s sales are items that are targeted towards tweens, teens and even adults. In recent years, the chain has seen significant growth in adults making their own stuffed dolls especially as they are seeking products that are produced in partnership with big companies like Disney.
The Baby Yoda plush will arrive on March 1 and is currently available for pre-order for $24.99.
Other Baby Yoda items from Etsy and Amazon have been available since Baby Yoda first showed up in the series.
