The countdown to the Met Gala 2026 is officially on, and excitement is building fast. From bold fashion statements to A-list appearances, here’s everything you need to know before the big night.

The Met Gala is more than just a red carpet event. It is a major fundraiser for the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, marking the launch of its annual spring exhibition. In 2026, the event will take place on Monday, May 4, continuing its tradition as fashion’s biggest night. This year’s theme, “Costume Art,” explores how the human body has been represented in fashion across 5,000 years of art. The dress code encourages bold, artistic expression, so expect celebrities to go all out. The co-chairs include Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour, with a star-studded host committee. Fans can watch the live stream through Vogue starting at 6 PM Eastern, covering every major red carpet moment.
