When Cardi B made her official foray into fashion through a collaboration with Fashion Nova, the 82 piece clothing collection sold out in a matter of minutes.
Fashion Nova is an inexpensive yet flashy brand that has skyrocketed in popularity thanks to social media influencers. Cardi teamed up with the viral brand to launch her first clothing collection, which featured pleather, crushed velvet, and plaid suits inspired by the classic film “Clueless.”
Cardi B also held a launch event on Nov. 14, called the Fashion Nova x Cardi Collection, where lots of rich and famous influencers turned out, including Khloe Kardashian, NeNe Leakes, Chanel Iman, Iggy Azalea, and Noah Cyrus.
The former reality show star shared that some of her line should be restocked in time for Black Friday, while other pieces will be brought back within two to three weeks.
In an interview with Beats 1 Radio DJ Ebro Darden, Cardi B said: “Fashion Nova gave me an opportunity to design what I like, what I want to put out. I’m gonna put out a line with them, a little somethin’ somethin.’ I’m collabbin’ with them for the fall. It’s gonna be great because it’s what I like … They’ve been rocking with me from the beginning. On top of that, Fashion Nova is big. I know a lot of people can’t afford expensive-ass sh*t … so everything is gonna be affordable. I want people to look good and high end with a good budget price. That’s the perfect opportunity.”
