Autumn is almost here, but that doesn’t mean we have to give up on fun and sun just yet. Whether you’re headed to the beach or just want to look fresh and sun-kissed, beach beautifiers like saltwater, sand and seaweed aren’t the only things that will give you that beach beauty look you desire.
As British model Georgia May Jagger shows us, all you need to do is follow a few simple steps to be daytime beach ready.
A key step of any makeup routine is to moisturize. Apart from hydrating the skin, applying a daily moisturizer will help keep your skin clear, smooth and wrinkle-free in the future. Moreover, applying moisturizer makes for the perfect base for makeup application. It will help the skin appear flawless and help your makeup stay on all day.
Another fundamental key to achieving a gorgeous beach look is applying sunscreen after your moisturizer has dried. Spending time outside under the summer sun means your skin will be exposed to harmful UV rays, so the sunscreen will provide a physical barrier to protect it. After the sunscreen has dried, you can begin to apply makeup by applying a light textured foundation instead of a thick, creamy foundation. This will give you a sunnier appearance that won’t easily smudge or melt due to the humidity.
When preparing for that beach perfect look, waterproof products play a big role in keeping makeup from streaking or smudging when you sweat or get wet. Some great products that will stand up the sun and sand are waterproof concealers, mascara and eyeliner.
Illuminating areas of your face where the sun hits will give you a natural glow that amplifies the glam and beauty of the summertime. To give your makeup routine a head start and look like you’re naturally glowing, apply an illuminating cream or stick to your forehead, upper cheekbones, chin and the bridge of your nose.
Part of the beach beauty look is to appear sun kissed so don’t forget about bronzer. Apply a shade that looks like a natural tan to your eyelids, just above your cheekbones and the apples of your cheeks. You can also apply blush to give color to your face and lipstick for a final touch.
