In 2002 Police Lured Criminals With a Free DVD Player and Arrested Them When They Came to Collect

Back in 2002, a bizarre sting operation by the Phoenix Police lured people with outstanding warrants (mainly DUIs) with a free DVD player. When they came to collect, they were asked to register (so police could confirm their identity).

They were then led to a backroom to collect their prize but were instead arrested and sent to jail.
