The Next Possible Spider-Man Movie
Fans of “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” have a lot to be excited for it seems the film may be getting a sequel. For those who did see the movie, a sequel was naturally expected as the film actually ended with a scene that sets up a continuation of the story.
Although there was just speculation before, Spider-Verse producer Amy Pascal did reveal that work is being done on the next Spider-Verse. In an interview with io9, Pascal said, “We are definitely hard at work on the sequel. You can expect another movie.”
Spider-Verse was a huge success, winning the Oscar in the Best Animated Feature category and topping Oscar favorites at Pixar. The movie even raked in $375 million globally and reinvented an animation style.
Sony further revealed that there would indeed be another Into the Spider-Verse movie that would likely focus on more adventures with Miles Morales (played by Shameik Moore). Apart from Miles Morales though, Sony did say that they want to do a Spider-Gwen movie (voiced by Hailee Steinfeld) as well as explore other female characters.
In other Spider-Man news, Tom Holland – who portrays Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – said he hopes to see Miles Morales introduced to the MCU.
“He’s really really good in it. But I’m just excited to introduce Miles into our own universe one day. I think that’s going to be really good,” Holland said in a statement.
