Jason Derulo, K-pop boy band NCT 127, and EXO’s Lay have unveiled their music video for “Let’s Shut Up & Dance” and it’s jam-packed with dance moves inspired by the King of Pop.
The video made its broadcast video premiere today on MTV and is now available on YouTube, Apple Music and more. “Let’s Shut Up & Dance” was written by Derulo and Ant Clemons as well as produced by Bongo ByTheWay, Ali Prawl, Ray Key and Robot Scott.
The upbeat dance track is the first single from a fourpart EP and box set entitled “The Greatest Dancer,” inspired by and dedicated to the art of Michael Jackson. The box set is scheduled to be released on June 25, the 10th anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death.
But also present in the track and video are representatives of M-pop and K-pop’s biggest stars — NCT and EXO’s Lay.
The single and video are one the most significant cross-genre music collaborations with a three-continent/five city video shoot. Shooting locations included South Korea, Ethiopia, Jamaica, London and Los Angeles. The accompanying video follows the artists as they re-create MJ’s most iconic moves throughout the different countries.
