The next ‘Star Wars’ show planned for Disney+

While we cannot say that Baby Yoda has to move over, he will have to make some room because a new Star Wars show is coming to Disney’s freshly debuted streaming service.

“Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge” is a new game show that will premiere on the Disney+ streaming service in 2020. The live-action skills game show is a first for the Star Wars brand and will be hosted by Jar Jar Binks actor Ahmed Best.

The new game show will test young contestants’ “abilities in the core Jedi principles of strength, knowledge, and bravery as they face thrilling and fun obstacles” in order to achieve the rank of Jedi Knight, according to Disney.

There will be various challenges that will test a contestant’s connection with the Force in three different locations – a forest planet, on a Jedi star cruiser and inside a Jedi temple.

Dan Silver, vice president of Originals – Unscripted Content, said that the forthcoming kids game show will bring together “the best of Star Wars – competitive spirit, harrowing obstacles and a hero’s triumph over challenges.”

Executive produced by Lucasfilm, Dean Houser, and David Chamberlin and Mike Antinoro from Endeavor Content, “Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge” is set to premiere in 2020.
