At the Game Awards 2018, Nintendo revealed that Joker from Persona 5 will join the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster as the game’s 76th fighter. The protagonist of one of last year’s best RPGs will be among the first fighters to be available as DLC.
Joker is the name of the Phantom Thief lead of Persona 5. By day he’s a normal Japanese high school student. He has access to an alternate version of the world called the Metaverse, and there, he can infiltrate the psyche of corrupted souls and steal their hearts.
And just as the name of the series implies, Joker can summon Personas, which are powerful demon-like creatures. Joker uses swords and guns, so Switch players can more than likely expect to see that arsenal show up in Ultimate.
Persona 5 is only playable on PlayStation consoles, making this the character and game’s first appearance on Switch. While Joker will be available to purchase individually, he’ll also come as part of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighter Pass. This will include five different bundles, each including a fighter, stage and music, all of which will cost players $24.99. Each Smash Bros. ultimate DLC pack will cost $5.99 separately.
