Are you a fan of Pringles, pickle chips or even pickle-flavored chips?
If so, then in the words of Rick Sanchez, “BOOM! Big reveal,” because for the third year in a row, Pringles is doing a Super Bowl ad, and this year the brand is giving a nod to the Adult Swim show “Rick and Morty” with a “Pickle Rick” chip and commercial.
Pickle Rick is the vegetable reincarnation of Rick Sanchez, who turns himself into a talking pickle to avoid going to family therapy in Episode 3 of Season 3.
Adult Swim teamed up with the crunch connoisseur to not only release Pickle Rick chips in grocery stores nationwide, but the two also created a “humorous, mind-bending animated spot” that will air during the second quarter of the Super Bowl.
Unfortunately, though, the Pickle Rick chips won’t be available for purchase until early February. More than that, until the official nationwide release, the flavor of the chips will remain a mystery. While it might be obvious to make it a pickle-flavored chip, Pringles already has a pickle-flavored chip.
“Rick and Morty” is an American adult animated sci-fi sitcom created for Cartoon Network’s late-night programming block, Adult Swim. The show has amassed a huge following over the years and remains one of TV’s most popular animated series.
