Say ‘I Love You’ With Chocolate Ramen

Ramen; it’s a simple yet savory staple and comfort food to many, but have you ever thought about combining the noodles and broth with chocolate?

If so, then you’re in luck because a restaurant in Japan is now serving chocolate ramen made with cocoa butter and a whole chocolate bar!

For a limited time only, Japanese ramen chain Kourakuen is selling a special chocolate ramen bowl for about $5 USD. The special dish comes with a soy-sauce based ramen broth that is mixed with cocoa butter. The dish’s chocolate flavor is made even stronger with the addition of a bar of Tirol milk chocolate and comes with chashu pork and shaved ginger garnish.

The ramen has received mixed reviews, naturally, so it all really depends on the person’s taste.

This isn’t the first time a bold chef has thought up the savory-sweet blend. Mensho’s Tokyo branches debuted a similar dish a few years back.

The chocolate ramen is has been released t as a limited time flavor for the month of February leading up to Valentine’s Day. Chocolate, in the country of Japan, is highly synonymous for the lover’s holiday, where traditionally women exchange the sweet in hopes of securing a relationship with the man they like.
