Superhero kids are back as superhero parents

Do you remember going to the movie theater to watch “The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl” in 3D? If you’re a fan of the cult classic, then hold on to your popcorn because everyone’s favorite kid superheroes are coming to Netflix for a nostalgic dose of fun, humor, and of course, lots of action.

“We Can Be Heroes,” directed by Robert Rodriguez (who also directed he “Spy Kids” movies), will bring back beloved heroes Sharkboy and Lavagirl, but this time as adults. But more than just being Sharkboy and Lavagirl, they’re parents!

“We Can Be Heroes” follows 11 children of superheroes who have to save the world and rescue their kidnapped parents. The group includes Sharkboy and Lavagirl’s daughter, who is coming into her own powers inherited from both parents.

Taylor Dooley, who played the young Lavagirl, will reprise her role, but no word yet on whether Taylor Lautner will return to play Sharkboy. Priyanka Chopra and Pedro Pascal will also star in the movie.

Netflix has not revealed a release date for the upcoming film, but hopefully, fans won’t have to wait for very long to see the return of two superheroes who were dreamed into existence by a young boy.
