K-beauty secret revealed, less is more
By now you’ve probably heard of or even tried the famous multi-step Korean beauty routine. Your makeup bag might even include a Korean product or two. Korean beauty trends still manage to capture the hearts and minds of beauty gurus across the world, as confirmed by the many fandoms and K-pop idols.
A former member of South Korean girl group Girls’ Generation Jessica Jung has since been focusing on her fashion and skin-care brand Blanc & Eclare. Her latest venture is becoming Revlon’s new global brand ambassador and developing a new line with the brand.
She will represent the brand in Asia and appear in various campaigns for the Super Lustrous and ColorStay franchises. But being part of one of the world’s biggest beauty brands means keeping up with the best routines to maintain healthy and beautiful skin.
Now 31, Jung still follows an elaborate process to perfect her dewy, natural look. Implementing changes to her makeup and skincare routine since going solo, the K-pop star shared her secrets to the effortless yet luminous no-makeup look.
Jung starts out with a mixture of moisturizer and concealer to give off a “natural glow,” which allows her to skip using a highlighter. Lip oil is “another essential” to give the lips a glamorous but natural look.
For her brows, Jung uses powder, two shades of pencil, and mascara to give them a full, bushy feel. Eye shadow depends on the season—for example, springtime is for corals and peaches; winter is deep hues.
Blush is lightly applied, and she sweeps her eyes with black eyeliner. The final step is to dab lipstick on to make the lips look natural and slightly washed out, and then give the face a generous bit of setting spray.
