Art lovers can visit the renowned Louvre art gallery from home with a new online database of masterpieces including the Mona Lisa herself. The Louvre website features a collection of over 480,000 images of the gallery that art lovers can enjoy at home.

The Louvre is a monumental piece of the world-famous city of culture and now tourists don’t have to travel all the way to Paris to experience the artistic culture. The website gallery collection features high-resolution phones that can be viewed on a desktop or mobile devices.
The Louvre gallery collection features works of art by Leonardo da Vinci and is updated regularly to feature new pieces of art added to the gallery. The Louvre will be featuring famous pieces and some lost treasures that will be seen for the first time from storage as well as some on loan pieces.

The Louvre wanted to bring the cultural experience to the home of many to enjoy during this time of travel restrictions and limited public gathering due to the global pandemic. The museum has remained close for a majority of the last year in response to the global pandemic and seems to be staying closed for the foreseeable future. Featuring the art gallery collection online will give more people access to the greatest pieces of art in the world without having to fly to Paris.
