20 Years Of Tamagotchi

If you are a 90’s baby this was the hottest toy on the market. Everyone had their Tamagotchi keychains and was on constant alert to keep them healthy and thriving. This was the newest pet for the digital age at the time and we would do anything to have them back!

The Japanese toy was created by Akihiro and Aki Maita and was released by Bandai. Their goal was to have the typical busy child who couldn’t have a pet because well, they were just too busy, experience the joy. It not only fit into their lifestyle, but it fit into their pocket as well!

The pet replicated the life of a regular pet like a cat or dog and needed feeding and care on a daily basis. These products flew off the shelves literally at its peak, 15 Tamagotchis were sold every minute in the U.S. and Canada! For more details be sure to check out the video above!
