American Idol is back and they have their first winner, Maddie Poppe. She was overwhelmed with a mix of emotions after claiming the American Idol victory crown. Viewers were extremely pleased with the victor but were thrown for a loop when there was an announcement about Poppe’s relationship status. Not only did she gain the American Idol title, but she gained a boyfriend! Did I mention the boyfriend is the runner-up, Caleb Lee Hutchinson? Ryan Seacrest got the full scoop when asking Hutchinson what it meant to him to sing a duet with Poppe. He responded with, “Well, you know, Maddie’s my best pal. I’ve known her since the beginning of Hollywood Week, and you know, she uh- she actually happens to be my girlfriend.” Cue the loudest crowd you have ever heard.
