Okawa City in Japan is promoting the work of the craftspeople in their region with these scaled down beds and sofas for cats. If you think a scratching post is the height of decor, think again. A team of craftspeople have developed a range of high-quality cat furniture. Some of the 150 furniture – producing factories in the Fukuoka Prefecture worked on the campaign. Some of the pieces were crafted as if they were for discerning human customers.
Each piece has been hand – created using “carefully selected timber“. A spokesperson says: “This may be ‘cat furniture’, but we will not lower standards and quality because it’s for cats. We have tried to make cat furniture as a way to show off skill and expertise.” The pieces are available from the individual furniture makers.
