‘Enchanted’ Sequels In The Works
It’s been 12 years since Walt Disney Studios released the original and fantastic musical “Enchanted” into theaters. The movie, which was both sweet and hilarious, and brought the joy of the classic Disney Princesses to life, and ever since the movie’s release, fans have been dying for a sequel to be made. Of course, everyone wants to know what Giselle and Robert Phillip’s happy ending looks like.
Although there has been talk and whisperings from cast and crew that an “Enchanted” follow-up has been in the works for some time, it has never come to fruition. Moreover, Disney has yet to make any announcements regarding the film.
However, the sequel is tentatively titled “Disenchanted,” and while it has been a long time coming, the time is starting to look ripe for Disney to pull the trigger and complete the sequel fans around the world have long been asking for.
It has been reported that TheDisInsider.com’s Editor-in-Chief Skyler Shuler tweeted an interesting message on Monday, saying that an update on Disenchanted is likely on the way.
“The long in development Enchanted sequel may finally be moving forward,” Shuler wrote. “We should get an update soon!”
Although everyone is waiting for the official announcement from the Mouse himself, Alan Menken, who penned the music for the original Enchanted, spoke with Den of Geek and confirmed that “Disenchanted” was in production.
Yes, we’re doing Enchanted 2,” Menken said. “We’ve had meetings. Five films I have right now that are waiting for a green light. They’re all standing at the light right now, and at some point, they’re going to go ‘greenlight!’”
